Behind the Track: Misconception
Misconception is a collaborative experiment with Will BElieve—a departure from the structured funk grooves of Ch.1, existing instead as an immersive sonic and visual experience. This track comes with an interactive canvas visualization, inviting listeners to experience the sound as both audio and motion. In this post, I'm breaking down the production philosophy, the sound design choices that define it, and how collaboration with Will shaped this piece.
The Origin: A Collaboration
Misconception sits outside the traditional release cycle. It's experimental, intimate, and built on the kind of creative exchange that happens when two artists bring different perspectives and toolkits to the same idea.
Sound Design and Synthesis
The production process for Misconception was iterative. The presence of multiple versions (V1, V2, separated stems) reflects a willingness to explore and refine the sonic character until it felt right.
Misconception is about creating space for ambiguity. The visual component becomes part of the musical experience—it's not just accompaniment, it's interpretation.
The Interactive Visualization
One defining feature of Misconception is the interactive experience built into the website. The visualization isn't decorative—it's integral to how the track is meant to be experienced. It transforms listening into something active and visual.
Canvas and Particle System
The visual element creates a feedback loop with the sonic experience. As the music evolves, the motion evolves. This creates a sense of flow and immersion that a static experience couldn't achieve.
Mixing and Production Philosophy
Mixing an experimental track requires a different mindset than mixing a traditional song. The goal wasn't clarity in a traditional sense, but rather creating a cohesive sonic environment where all elements (including the visual layer) work together.
Stereo and Spatial Treatment

Misconception in the Catalog
Misconception represents a moment of creative exploration—stepping outside the boundaries of a single release cycle and inviting listeners into an immersive, experimental space. It's a reminder that production doesn't have to fit into traditional formats to be meaningful.
